Unlike petrol and diesel cars, electric cars are generally more efficient driving in cities than on motorways. Unlike the internal combustion engines used in petrol and diesel cars, EVs aren’t more efficient at motorway speeds - the faster you drive an EV, the quicker the battery drains. So, the slower nature of driving in the city means less charge is used. They also don’t waste energy when they’re idling, which tends to happen frequently in heavy traffic. So yes, electric cars can do more miles in cities.
